MUSC Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join the South Carolina Alzheimer's Network (SCAN) within the Cognitive & Behavioral Neurology Division. In this role, you will provide specialized care for patients with Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive disorders while helping improve access to innovative treatments, research opportunities, and coordinated long-term care.
You will work alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team dedicated to delivering comprehensive dementia care and supporting patients, caregivers, and referring providers throughout the treatment journey.
About SCAN at MUSC Health:
The South Carolina Alzheimer's Network (SCAN) is a multi-site clinical program designed to provide patients with early and accurate diagnosis, individualized treatment plans, access to emerging Alzheimer's therapies, longitudinal co-management with primary care providers, and opportunities to participate in leading-edge research.
Required Qualifications:
- Advanced Practice Provider: Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) licensed or eligible for licensure in South Carolina.
- Current BLS certification.
- Interest in cognitive neurology, dementia care, geriatrics, neurology, primary care, or behavioral health.
- Strong communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
Position Highlights:
- Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with Alzheimer's disease and other cognitive and behavioral neurological conditions.
- Perform comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and provide longitudinal follow-up care.
- Collaborate closely with neurologists, APPs, primary care providers, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Educate patients and caregivers on disease management, treatment options, and available resources.
- Participate in clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and educational opportunities.
