As part of the MUSC – Community Physicians Neonatology Division, you will provide care in a Level II Special Care Nursery/NICU while benefiting from the expertise, innovation, and resources of South Carolina's leading academic health system. The East Cooper neonatal program is integrated with MUSC Children's Health, providing seamless access to regional neonatal and pediatric subspecialty support.

About East Cooper Medical Center:
Located in the heart of Mount Pleasant, East Cooper Medical Center serves one of the fastest-growing communities in the Southeast. The hospital's Level II Special Care Nursery/NICU provides specialized care for newborns requiring intermediate-level support and is backed by the expertise and referral network of MUSC Children's Health, the state's premier pediatric and neonatal care provider. MUSC Neonatology supports both East Cooper Medical Center and the nationally recognized neonatal programs in Charleston, creating a collegial and highly integrated care environment.
Required Qualifications:
- MD or DO from an accredited medical school
- Board-certified in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine
- Completion of an accredited Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine fellowship
- Minimum of five years of neonatal practice experience following fellowship training
- Eligible for South Carolina medical licensure
- Experience performing circumcisions or willingness to obtain training
- Experience with ventilator management
- Commitment to family-centered care and participation in daily multidisciplinary rounds
- Ability to collaborate effectively with speech therapy, lactation, and family support services
- Commitment to evidence-based, patient-centered neonatal care
- Excellent communication and interdisciplinary collaboration skills
Position Highlights:
- Practice within a well-established MUSC Neonatology program
- Coverage of a Level II Special Care Nursery/NICU at MUSC Health East Cooper Medical Center
- Collaborative team environment with access to pediatric subspecialty expertise across MUSC Children's Health
- Provide telemedicine rounds for three MUSC-affiliated facilities utilizing the Teladoc platform
- 24-hour in-house APP coverage providing continuous bedside support.
- Provide care for well newborns in addition to Level II nursery responsibilities
