Springfield, MO
Full-Time
Physician
Internal Medicine: Hematology and Medical Oncology
Looking for community oncology without starting from scratch? Join an established physician-led Hematology/Oncology practice that has served southwest Missouri since 1979. Step into an existing practice alongside five physicians and five APPs, with clinical trials, comprehensive in-house services and a manageable shared call schedule. (Light beeper call)
Serving the region since 1979, OHA has built a longstanding reputation for providing leading-edge cancer and blood disorder care close to home. The practice currently includes experienced medical oncologists/hematologists and advanced practice providers and offers comprehensive services including medical oncology, hematology, clinical trials, specialty infusion, pathology, pharmacy, care coordination and navigation.
This opportunity is available due to the relocation of an existing physician and offers the ability to step into an established practice rather than build from the ground up.
- 5 physicians + 5 APPs
- Approximately 60% hematology / 40% oncology
- 22 infusion chairs
- Active participation in clinical trials
- Robust referral network including primary care, breast and oncology surgeons, general surgeons, CoxHealth and Mercy
- On-site clinical and operational support, including pharmacy and infusion leadership
- New standalone clinic space planned to expand opportunities for outpatient treatments
- Low hospital consult volume — approximately 1–2 consults per week
- No expectation to return to the hospital overnight
- Shared call of approximately 1 night per week and 1 weekend every 5 weeks
- No experience requirement — fellows and experienced physicians are encouraged to apply
